Last year I was encouraged by a fellow knitter to design with an affordable material, and I embraced the challenge. I know knitting is an expensive hobby and I also know how lots of people look down on other knitters who use materials considered less worthy of their time.
I teach knitting at a community house where we mostly work with very affordable acrylic and we make the most amazing projects, and we’d never even consider that one material is better or worthier than the other.
So for this project I chose a yarn that is considered affordable and easy to get and substitute. Any material can achieve magical results.
You can use whatever like for your project! From the most luxurious cashmere to reclaimed wool from older sweaters. The important thing is always how much love you pour on your hand-made projects.
Worthy is worked seamlessly from the top-down with raglan sleeves. The background is a simple textured pattern, but the front and back are adorned with gorgeous lace and bobble panels. Since it’s worked in worsted weight yarn, it’s a really quick project.
